Boss' Day 2008 is about to Strike(Oct. 16)

It might not be the most glorious day of the year, but it is that time when you need to get together and think about your boss. Some might call them visionaries, some might call them war mongers with a time card, and others might call them Bob. But no matter what you call your boss, there comes one day a year when you step back and you pay attention to what your boss does that truly is special. Here are some things to pay attention to:

1. Your timecard needs to get approved....someone has to do that.

2. Your daily focus has to come from somewhere.

3. You have a less than normal stress level at your current job, someone has helped make it that way.

4. When you come to work, you probably smile, and that is actually a metric that your boss is tracking because believe it or not, your boss/manager/supervisor does care about you; and that is only a part of the leadership qualities that he or she is using to assist in your positive experience at work.

So get together, take them out to lunch, get them a signed Dixie plate with string that they can wear around their head, or send them an email that says, "hey, you rock." Either way, bosses day is around the corner and that should cause you to think about it.
